Staci (Venski) Kinney

A true believer in the Point West mission of developing players within a competitive, challenging, yet positive environment, Staci brings experience and success as both a player and a coach combined with a enthusiasm for working with athletes and a love for the game. In 2013 her 18s team attended the prestigious USVA Junior Nationals Tournament in Columbus, OH and in 2012 her team finished 5th at the highly competitive AAU National Championships. She also helped coach the 18s team to a first place finish at the Junior Nationals in 2007. Staci spent time as a coach at Los Angeles club SCVC, where she helped coach the 2004 15s team to a silver medal at Junior Nationals.

Staci is no stranger to success: as a four-year member of the USC Women's Volleyball Team, she won back-to-back NCAA Division I National Championships as a four-year scholarship athlete. During her tenure at USC, Staci trained with the USA A2 Women’s National Team and earned All-Pac 10 honors. Prior to her joining the women’s volleyball team at USC, Staci competed with the USA Youth and Junior National Teams, playing in the NORCECA tournament and World Championships. As a starter, she helped lead the 2001 NORCECA team to a second-place finish.

Staci is a 2002 graduate of Calabasas High, but did not compete athletically in her two years there. She attended Mojave High as a freshman and sophomore where she was named volleyball's High Desert League MVP in 1999 (sophomore), selected to the all-league first team in 1998 and 1999 and helped lead her team to the conference championship in 1999. She was a star for local powerhouse club Thunder VBC. Also a basketball standout, Staci earned first team All-CIF San Diego Section, first team all-league and High Desert MVP honors as a freshman.
